Creators. Stop ignoring me.
Dear Spinner/fudge.
Is there a possibility so you can reveal us/the community some more information about the PaX combat such as how roid-capping is being calculated and structures/factories are being lost so we can get a decent BattleCalculator sorted?
Would be great.
another point: could you add a dumpfile where alliancename/roids/score/value are visible, too?
Thanks, Yours sincerly, Lockhead

lockhead asked me to support him but i'm mean
i want the alliance dumps, that would be great - as to fomulae...... Well I would like some hints to point us in the right direction for cracking the formula ourselves - even some comments on what we have done so far would be nice - tell us if we have over simplified give us some hints on how to improve things, but let us do the work.

Lockhead,
I actually like it that some of these numbers and formulaes are a mystery. It keeps some of the fun (and risk) in the game. Not everyone (alliance?) likes playing a predictable game where 1+1 = always 2. That is boring and would take even less skill (people will just use battlecalc and calc this game to boredom).
Please, stop whining.
Thanks.

Hidden formulas and no bcalc mean people need to start thinking. Seems a bit much for some people but I think it's good. Bottom line is it's not hard to guess what's going to happen with a reasonable degree of success.

Not at all really. Calcing now just takes a few "guesstimates" and rough calcing, overkilling to make sure you haven't mucked up.
Having a bcalc will just enable people to be more efficient, and work out exactly what is needed instead of sending a rough amount of ships to attack/defend.
It's hardly "thinking". I'd say it takes more skill to tweak a bcalc to reach the optimal level of efficiency, than just overkill to make sure.

we don't need a fully working bcalc imo.
just remember broadswords kill 70% more BS than Lockheads calc shows atm. (I learnt that yesterday )

ah but do they really do that.... or just 70% more of one particular BS..... the stats are more complicated than Lockhead and I first realised, so who knows what really happens. Also rememberr fleet priorities etc.
There is actually no point in overkilling when guessing what to send - the same number of your ships will still die as there is no initiative.

Who says that sending overkill isn't what mucks it up in the first place. Sending to much could influence your max cap, it could influence your score gain. It will off course hel in killing the defenceships and probably in the killing of building but if you get less score for each when you send overkill that isn't very usefull.
Overkilling on targets is pretty safe but not nescesarily a good strategy.

locky locky, you are doing this entirily wrong
1. they will ALWAYS ignore you, no matter how loud you scream
2. you have to do this much more subliminal (like "Creators, do you wanna have sex with me ?")
3. they are busy with other stuff (like finally doing the ingame alliances right)
4. they just don't like us tool makers
5. this game is dead
6. they will prolly charge money for the dumps soon
7. its PLANETARION, lead by SPINNER, does it ring now ?

Do people realize how often spinner and fudge read these boards? Not on a regular basis. Besides Bcalcs are EXACLTY the oposite of what spinner is trying to do, so why would he give you the info when it undermines what his vision is. As for the alliance DB dumps i don't see why they can't be added, maybe next round as you know how they are and working on trival things.

I have to agree with King, other than major bug fixes that NEED fixing spiinner and co should be working on major improvements for next round (if there is one) and trying to make planetarion more marketable for the future. However an alliance dbase dump really should just be a case of cpoying and pasting some code and changing some variable names.... not much work really.
