Room 101
So I caught the last five minutes of Room 101 yesterday. Boris Johnson was on.
He actually seems like quite an alright guy. I used to think he was some toff who likes behaving like a clown but after last night I think he's OK. Doesn't even seem like a Tory. He even holds relatively moderate and sensible views.
So, erm, any famous people you've prejudged unfairly in the past?

Re: Room 101
Its an act. He's a lying twat who just pretends to be stupid so you understimate him.
And I unfairly thought Ricky Gervais was both a comedy genius and a really nice bloke untill I met him. He's a complete dick and more arrogant than sunday.

Re: Room 101
Boris Johnson is a twat. He's probably cottoned on to the fact he has a small cult following now (from students, etc) so cultivates this by some mild buffoonery. He holds back from general Tory unpleasantness because of this (probably).
Outside of political figures, I don't really hold strong opinions about many famous people. It seems like a mistake. Even though I'm pretty into music, films, etc I don't really think about the people who produce these products in any great-detail. Plenty of people get terribly annoyed about Courtney Love for instance, but I can't see why it matters particularly.
It's nice when good music (or film) collides with good politics, as with Rage Against the Machine, or Anti-Flag, or NOFX or whatever. Same with good personality. It's good if a person whose a talented writer, or guitar player, etc is a nice human being too. But it doesn't really effect me if they're not.
In short, I can't think of any examples of where I've changed my personal feelings strongly towards a famous person. There's plenty of times where people put themselves off the artistic roll-call by appearing in adverts to quote Bill Hicks. Lo Samuel Jackson, Tim Roth, Steve Buscemi, etc. But it's not like I thought these people were special human beings in the first place.

It's generally just women that do. What with their Heat magazines and gossip columns.

I wouldn't say under-developed, just strange.
The other day I had a little glance at Heat magazine and they had a two page spread on celebrities and their celullite. C'mon, what kind of a weirdo is interested in that???

Well, I guess that means that no woman on the face of this Earth is interested in that then.

Re: Room 101
Boom Boom Boris is excellent no HIGNFY. Hed also make a top tory leader. Everyone would hate him if he became a "Serious" politician though. The buffoonery is why hes so well known, but i agree its entirely possible its an act.
