Nostalgia

Here is my first forum suggestion ever. It's 6 years old.

Basically, it's just something that I thought may come in handy...

ESPECIALLY WHEN THE GAME GETS EXPORTED TO IT'S NEW FACEBOOK PLATFORM

It's very noob friendly and encourages friends to play together without them having to get in to alliances. Obviously, we want them to get to that stage eventually, but there's no need to throw kids in to the deep end of the pool and hoping they'll learn to swim.

It seemed a popular idea at the time, I'm curious as to why it's taken so long to implement...

Essentially, yes.

You can add people to your buddy/friends list the same way you'd add a friend on facebook. You search for them via their alliance nick/username, and then click 'add to buddy list'. The recipient then gets a mail with a link to the buddy page, whereby they can accept/reject the request.

Expanding upon that, a shared news feed for friends on the list. You can apply filters to it to say what news you give away/receive.

It takes the onus away from alliance play which is what we'll need if we're going to open PA up to any new mass-markets.

If there really is a plan to move this over to Facebook (Which I'm doubting as its a 1-2month task to make it Facebook ready yet we still haven't seen it happen yet) then its a waste of time adding this feature as the Facebook API is capable of enabling this with no problem

i'm still wondering how 1 hour ticks will work on Facebook.. most people on there want applications that they can play actively from what i've seen.

Change the word 'ticks' to 'hours' and you're fine. Make covert-operations a bigger part of the game as they're instantaneous, whilst eliminating the need to change the hour-based formula for missions and res/con.

Also, make quests a glamour/acheivement thing as opposed to a training thing and you're fine.

It would also require player 'profiles', but profiles are something that we should be looking in to doing with the passport system anyway.
