Laying down the Gauntlet
I did 132 hours of over time in the last month.

Anybody care to challenge me to having less of a social life?

That's actually pretty impressive.
I did about 35 in the summer - that was enough for me.
And how much extra did you earn for your 'efforts'?
Or was it because there were many "Bring your daughter to work days" at your work? Or is there a new creche opened.
lol I made a joike about Dace bein a peado

Re: Laying down the Gauntlet
Well, that depends of the kind of work, the facilities and ofcourse the payment. When I did extra hours I got free chinees/greece/whatever food as much and as luxuary as I wish, the money was 150% and actually I only effectively worked like 2 hours extra for getting 4 hours payed sort of as the rest of the time we where discussing football, women, food and more of the better things in life
Also, I am a civil servant, so is Dace if I remember correctly.

I agree.
Now that I'm part of the Dutch working force I understand why people are not prepared to devote more time to their boss. Unless for a lot of extra money.

I might have misled you guys a bit (ho ho ho).
I normally only work part time (20 hours a week).
However for the last 2 months FIU (fraud squad) have offered me the over time to come in from 2-6 (i normally work 6-10) and any weekend OT i want (8:30 - 4).
They are severely short staffed and so i have taken them up on the offer.
Roughly £10/hour weekdays and £12/hour on a Sunday for filing stuff i think i'm onto a winner.
Ohhhhh and the office has been trying to hire people.
The process has been going on for approx 3 months with the new starts beginning at the end of November (pld the Civil service).
I'd been promised OT till the end of October but if i play my cards right i think i might be able to do this till the end of November (no OT on a SUnday past the end of OCtober tho :( ) \o/

April/May/June/July time i normally worked at least 18 odd days in a row.
20 - 24 was regular.
27 was my record.
I have been Mr Overtime in my office this year (still broke tho :(((( ).
Apparantly with the new systems being installed nation wide next year and with the projected increased demand there will be a shit load of bonus over time (even with the office running at full capacity) which i shall be forced to do.

Hello Mr Maths
132 hours overtime = 198 hours normal time (assuming O/T = 1½ normal time)
Assume normal working week = 40 hours
Normal work October = 4 weeks 2 days
Normal hours worked = 160 + 16 = 176 hours
So, in total, you worked 176 + 198 = 374 hours = 9 weeks.
And you ended up with £3,000?
