I can always pick out my posts instantly on a page for some reason and I've been able to do the same with other peoples'. Perhaps not being able to judge someone's posts in advance might be a beneficial move for the forum!

And saying that people can post offensive images using avatars isn't really a valid reason.
As you should just ban anyone from the forums who use offensive avatars.
After a few people had been banned im sure most of the avatars used would be non offensive ones.

I suspect some nefarious plot where avatar access is linked to paying for a PA account.

Purely speculation on my part though, and it does assume slightly more business sense than normally shown by PA management, but I can't think of any other reasons (beyond spite/general meanness).
