I just tried to run round the lake at the National Watersports Centre.
I made it 2/3 of the way (about 1.5 miles) before having to give up and walk back to the carpark.

I was just having a word with my mate's sister.
She not only runs round the whole lake, so approx 2.5 miles, she also runs the 2 miles to the Centre and the 2 miles back again. Non-stop. Twice a week.

I have new respect for that girl.

I realised how unfit i was when i left my bag on the bus in manchester and tried to chase it down the street. I failed, although in my defence i did have my other bag which weighs about 1/2 as much as i do with all my clothes in it to carry.

That was actually the first time that i wished i didnt smoke As it was clearly that that was holding me back.

That's just it though, if anything i'm slightly below average weight, i don't smoke, but I'd still be beaten by a 40 year old chainsmoker with an addiction to crack if today's performance is anything to go by.

yes, having done almost no exercise but walking to uni and back for about a year and a half, I feel I'm loosing my "edge". I had to run at the end of the term (was late for a lecture, and someone else was running so I felt bad). I managed about 2 minutes before I had to stop. To be fair, it was (slightly) uphill*. Back to karate for me - I never quite realised how much exercise we got from those lessons


*I'm pretending this makes a difference.

In 14 hours I will have my first training of the season again, prolly going to go a 6 mile run, which I will do, untrained, in about 40 minutes.
