Bush plans for economy in trouble?
GWB had planned massive tax cuts to stimulate growth in the US economy and alleviate a depressed job market, Congress passed it but the Senate has slashed the cuts from $726 billion to $350 billion. Part of this is due to a request for $75 billion to fund the Iraq debacle, an estimate based on a 30 day campaign with only $2 billion earmarked for rebuilding in Iraq. It is already becoming obvious that this figure will have to increase at least tenfold if the US wishes to keep it's self proclaimed role of 'liberators' rather than invaders so what happens to the US economy? With the budget deficit estimated at $580 billion (twice the current record) the US economy is looking exceptionally shakey and American voters are notoriously intolerant of leaders who **** up with the finances, could Little Bush join Big Bush in failling to be elected for a second term*? We can only hope so
*We'll pretend not to notice that he was never really elected for his first term.

I'm sorry, but in my book it is so, that if you can spend 75 billion on sundries as tomahawks and moabs, you don't have an economy problem.

I remember reading about that, the Bush supporters were protesting it as it would undermine the presidents position.
But they can hardly go broke just to try and prevent Bush from looking foolish.

I don't get it, the US is having escalating budget deficits and to tackle this problem Bush decides to slash taxes. This is mega stupid even if you ignore the fact that the Iraqi war is costing lots.
He is such a numpty dumpty, he should leave the economy to people like Alan Greenspan.

Certain people, such as Alan Greenspan, are actually of the opnion they the US _cant_ spend 75 billion on such sundries.
But what does he know, eh?

The Iraqi oil has suffered long enough. It must be liberated.
For great justice.
