Team America: World Police
Is actually pretty funny... the Michael Moore bit especially made me laugh.
I advise you to all to go and watch the funny thunderbirds-style puppets at once
Haawwow!

Re: Team America: World Police
saw it last week.
Did make me laugh but was expecting it to be better.
Although the attention to detail is brilliant. The road in France made of croissants, the chocolate money door bead things etc.
Also the "I'm so ronery" song was in my head for ages.

A flying limo? Now I've seen everything.
Have you ever seen a man eat his own head?
What? No!
So you *haven't* seen everything.

Diabolically poor. I struggle to express my contempt adequately towards someone who found that movie funny.

Its on my "Must See" list.
Jonny , you seriously need to lighten up. Try drinking less before watching movies.

Re: Team America: World Police
The jokes did not make me laugh.
I think that's a fairly serious failing for a comedy to have.

I walked out of the movie after about 30 or 40 minutes. Up until that point no I didn't. I find the bit where the eiffel tower got blown up and took out the arc de triomphe mildly amusing. Everything else was just shit. For ****s sake people were laughing at the fact they were shit puppets and the way they walked.

Re: Team America: World Police
I've not seen it. People's opinions have ranged from "worst film I have ever seen" (from my girlfriend) to "best film ever" (from some idiot at my workplace).
I'm terribly confused as to what believe.

Re: Team America: World Police
not a great film, what more do you expect from the people behind south park, but bloody funny none the less, the fact that they call michael moore a socialist was funny as **** in context
and the way they take the piss out of arabs, whilst horribly horribly racist, is also very funnily done, although i suspect that we (the english) might see it in a much more ironic way than a lot of americans

Re: Team America: World Police
I thought the arab bit was well done actually, and the intention wasn't to be racist. The film is basicly a jab at America, the implication being the words the Arabs are speaking are the only ones your average American thinks they say.
That was how I took it anyway, but yeah that's the more ironic way of looking at it.

Re: Team America: World Police
theyre doing a similar motif on superman 5, theyre gonna have christopher reeve's corpse in a superman uniform, attach his arms and legs on strings, and use trampolines for his up, up and away scenes..

Re: Team America: World Police
I liked how they dedicated a whole song to how much Pearl Harbor sucks. I also liked the montage song. I'm with JBOY on the acting and saving the world.
My flatmates have killed all the fun in 'matt damon' though.
All in all, it's cheap fun with a bunch of nice catch phrases. The first half hour is probably the worst half hour, so I can't blame Jonny for walking out.

Re: Team America: World Police
GIven it's creators you have to at least expect some amount of sillyness or you really have lived a sheltered life. I also suspect that Americans may not appreciate it as much as it essentially picks the shit out of them.
However, that said I loved every minute of it.
