Eddie Izzard
I just saw his show at Wembley arena tonight. I think its the last one on his world tour (before he goes and does it in french next year that is). Anyway, it was absolutely brilliant I havent laughed so much in such a short space of time for absolutely ages, and i wasnt even drunk or anything...
aaaaaah
problem is he used more noises than he normally does, so some of its harder to recreate
btw, according to my friend who was with me and has the DVD... tonights performances was actually a lot better than the one on that and has lots of funny different bits. Which kinda pisses me off.

I find him amusing but gay and bores me quickly.

Re: Eddie Izzard
I saw the tour in Nottingham and concluded that 50% of his act is ad libbing. Which makes me feel better for seeing him live - he went on for about half an hour about robin Hood
He went to Sheffield Uni and met a couple of mates of mine cos they are in the theatre company... bastards.

Re: Eddie Izzard
i heard from a few sources (not least hte programme for tonights performance) that his act is not ad libbing, it just seems like it often. Maybe the directions he takes are fairly random. But the actual material in itself is apparently impeccably rehearsed. Not that that really matters to me.
Neanderthal elections!

Re: Eddie Izzard
My grandparents introduced me to him over the summer (not personally or anything) and I thought he was really funny, my only complaint is that when my parents and grandparents get drunk they start doing part of his bit in this terrible English accent. It's truly awful hearing all these drunken grown-ups yelling "Do you have a flag?" like a bunch of tone-deaf English nelly queens.

Re: Eddie Izzard
Wearing women's clothes doesn't make you gay.
p.s. I think he called himself a female lesbian or something.

Yeh - He went on about it for ages... The whole "I'm related to hunter-gatherers but I don't reckon I could be arsed with the gathering... So I'd have a caddie named Steve... Gazelle Steve? 'Number 3 spear' Thanks!"
(obviously told much better by him and in much more detail with more sound effects...)
The Sexie DVD has been out for ages... one of the other shows was recorded...

Re: Eddie Izzard
ah... i remember number 3 spear now... i dunno, i didnt find it that funny at the time.
fly jokes were great, especially fly hunting with flame thrower. and "where have all my friends gone?"
JBOY, if it was the same religious joke he did when i was there, he got applauded for its controversy here. For we are cultured and liberal etc...
