This tactic worked well at ruby ridge.
Jonny: does this mean you get a criminal record?

Surely it's a federal rather than a criminal offense (or whatever the right words are)

You too could be sad and lonely and bored/depressed!
Not paying the full price isn't bad in my book. But lying is stupid and evil, I hope they lock you up you lying stealing thieving liar.

Heh, I think you mean civil offense.
And I'm not sure if it is.

Re: So I've been summoned to court
In the UK they're always telling you that you can get a criminal record for fare evasion.
I've only been caught properly once, which wasn't bad as I technically fare evaded every day I went to University for three years. I did have a proper travelcard though, just not for Zone 1 (i.e. Central London). When I got caught (in the last week of my degree) they sent me a letter saying it wasn't in the public interest to prosecute. Hurrah.
But anyway, bad luck Jonny. I don't see too major a problem of the ocassional fare evading if you're poor.

Re: So I've been summoned to court
Just say you moved houses recently (e.g. yesterday). And you didn't like it there, so you moved back.
Only works ofc if the address you gave them is NOT from let's say singapore...

I been caught a few times and I get away with it because they think I'm 15. It's true. Every girl have said I've got such a baby face.... despite the massive goatee.

I don't know. It'd be pretty funny if I did and then I couldn't go to america though. Rolling on the floor laughing out loud funny.

Fairly obviously I'm going to try getting out of paying an annoying, pointless fine when the problem was I didn't have that much money in the first place. I'm hardly going to skip the country though.

Re: So I've been summoned to court
He was wise with his money.
Unless they fine him a ridiculous amount of money, presuming he's dodged fares for a few years, he's massively better off (overall) having dodged fares than if he hadn't.

They aren't going to lock me up you bizzare little woman. Go hassle someone selling hash to their friends or something.

same.
I've saved somewhere in the region of £1200 over 30 months by erm.... buying a cheaper ticket than I should.
I don't wanna say anymore, knowing my luck, I may get caught tmrw.

Re: So I've been summoned to court
Screw CIE,ok..screw them. Those fking bus drivers used to make my life as complicated and aggrivating as possible when in secondary school. While getting on the bus, from the school bus stop, wearing a school uniform with a school bag they would constantly charge us the full adult fare if we didn't safe "school child" to them out loud and clear.
They would bitch endlessly about it if we said "no school fare,30p not 75p" and refuse to refund us the money.
Even if we said "half" they'd charge us the normal child fare of 50p (at the time ofc). Miserable cnuts.
Alot of the time they'd not even stop at stop's we want to get off on even though we'd get up,walk to the front and say "next stop please". They'd bitch and moan and drive to the next one. Even when they got bell's installed and we rang em they'd refuse to stop.
They must have a course to do when they join titled "How to piss people off and be a grumpy ****"
Then while getting the train from Dublin to Limerick, which was supposed to be direct, they announced they'd have to change at limerick junction, dumped us off for 40mins in the cold,we had to get on a train full of smelly cork ppl and then had some conductor bitch at me for not having the correct ticket.
Screw the bastards.
