If someone asked you to videotape their suicide and post the video on the net (various sites that host weird content), would you agree? Would you do it for money? Would you wait until they lit themselves on fire (or whatever) and say "haha, sucker!"?

You might be legally assisting a suicide and morally you might be supposed to talk people out of it.

I wouldn't associate with someone like that in the first place?

Wouldn't rest on my conscience even if someone I associated with took that turn.

Of course I'd investigate to see if they were serious, if they were I'd just abandon them to their own reality... if anything I'd jsut be inclined to buy them bottles of spirit for occassions obviously... with maybe "To drink when you are alone" attached on a label.

I'd ask them to reconsider their decision. If they appeared perfectly rational (to me obviously) and merely wished to end their life I would assist them.

PS Would you actually get done for assisted suicide if you just videotaped them? All you're guilty of is the "sin" of omission (with awareness).

i once had a pyscho girl in my msn who kept annoying me with how she wanted to commit suicide and didn't really know how to do it.
i helped her out.

Jonny is my man. At least in theory. I would hope I would be able to help a friend in need, no matter what the request was, but I guess I would not be able to help anybody comitt suicide.

I think people have the right to kill themselves if they really want to (and aren't suffering from some short term mental depression or whatever), but I'm sure I wouldn't know any random internet person well enough to make such a determination. I'd phone social services and try to get some help for that person.

Beyond that, putting it on the internet is just crass.

It would be difficult to get a video camera to automatically email its video. Particularly if this is being done outside (eg. self-immolation).
