Sims 2.
What's people's experience of this?
Let me just state here that I have not read a single review of it yet - my interest was caught today by the rather glaring fact that it was at something like 26th place in Game's chart. Has it really done this badly?

Re: Sims 2.
I wasn't aware when the release was, but it seems strange that it's slipped so far.

Re: Sims 2.
The Sims was one of the worst games i've ever played.
The Sims 2 surely can't be much better.

Re: Sims 2.
The Sims 2 was never going to have the same sales figures of The Sims 1, especially given that it's an update to THE SIMS ONLY. The expansion packs will all have their own comparative expansion packs for the sequel (in effect). This pissed people off.
The Sims 2 is apparantly a much better 'game' than the Sims, however.

You've set the icon as a question mark instead of an exclamation mark.
This is unprecidented.

Re: Sims 2.
as a joyful supporter of internet industries plc, i can announce that sims 2 is actually pretty awesome. my gaming time is split 5 ways - fm2005, GTA:SA, sims 2, call of duty and dawn of war, in roughly that order. user the other 4 games as an indicator here.

Recent studies have demonstrated that people who like The Sims also play with barbies.

Re: Sims 2.
Sims 2 is a much better game, the fact they marketed the original sims to death included the recent releases of the deluxe sims and the mega deluxe sims boxes in the same year as the Sims 2 release probably tapped a lot of their market out.
I know a lot of people pissed off at the overmarketing of Sims 1 that didn't finish up until the release of sims 2.
That said the SA reviews of it in the sense of the roleplaying the game were simply so hilarious I almost shat myself.

Re: Sims 2.
I could get the proper ranking for you if you wish. In my GAME store we have to replace games within the chart often if we dont have enough of the boxes to display. Theoretically it could be higher, but at my store (one of the top 100 I think) we're down to "living it up" which means less and less boxes on the shop floor. However from my memory, I dont think it was ranking high in the charts anyway (from when I did them last week.)
PS: Sims 2 is now in a Deal of the Week for GAME. Buy anything and get it for £29.99.

Indeed is , the fun fact is that you can turn your little pupet gay :S. Even make them have sex. They should have rated that game 65+ fs

My daughter plays it constantly.
I used to be a store manager for Game. Chester & Birkenhead - we used to do the charts on a Saturday after the releases on a Friday. Was more of an anticipated chart back then.
