I want to study photography.

Looking at the Glasgow School of Art website type thing it appears that to be considered for the place i need to have a portfolio.

Is this the same for all places or what?

Cause if it is that's ****ed.

- I want to learn photography

- I need to go to college

- To get into college i need to know how to do photography (ie have a portfolio)

= Catch 22



Does anyone have any idea how art courses work (ie to get into them)?

I orignally deleted the thread cause i kinda found out some stuff (from GCPB website) but having now read more i still appear to be ****ed.

Also ... what are my chances of getting a Uni place this year if i try and apply now (can i get in via clearing or what?)?

OHHHH yeah also ... would i have to pay fees (i already have a degree etc)?

you'll be wanting to pm me about photography.
although i don't do it professionally, (which is simply a matter of choice atm, from the feedback i get on some of my photos), i've been doing it for a while (as some folks here know), and i do know how to go about getting into a course for it, plus a few people taking them.


edit : bits i can answer without a pm
chance of this year = **** all.

if you'd asked maybe 6 months ago, then yes although iirc such courses are almost always over-subscribed, and so there would be very few clearing places. (this is one reason why a portfolio is requested)

i suspect you'd have to pay fees, but i'm not how the scottish system works.
ask your local council/lea place.

or find their website, or something
