Galloway was always going to win. After the paper in the US that published them had to give him damages and a massive apology, it was a certainty the UK courts were going to see that the Telegraph had done exactly the same, quoting almost word for word in places. They had no chance, and should definetely have said "Look George, just tell us how much you want, we will print an apology, end of".
Its cost them a fortune, and theres almost no chance they can win this much vaunted appeal that the editor is going on about just now. Im betting however Galloway is now a marked man in the Telegraph, and nothing thats said about him there, regardless of what he does from now on, is ever going to be positive.
