So, I Started Making A Website...
Thats Right. Along with my brother, I started (and have now nearly finished) a website. I'm pretty happy with how it's turned out. However... Before I finalise it, and fire it off into the big land of the magic intarweb, I figured I would ask the kind folk of GD for some feedback.
My demo concept can be found here.
It's currently running as a concept demo, so all the end products are free. Where it says it will charge you, it's just pretend (Although the phone stuff is UK / Germany only at the moment).
I would be much obliged if you found the time to look at / test / break / masturbate over / etc the pages I have made. Any feedback would be appreciated, and any errors you find please pass them on so I can fix them. I am particularly interested if the final result looks OK on end user's phones.
Things I already know:
* It's camp - Yes I know that, it's meant to be.
* CSS isn't really used for layout - I'm a tables man still.
* Profiles are not fully working - Indeed, but that stuff is fluff anyway. Its the main meat I care about.
* There is no User Agreement - I didn't make one yet.
Thanks.

Re: So, I Started Making A Website...
1) Registration
Tried to check validation, looks pretty good but i got a weird error in the end (prolly you haven't completed the insert into DB stuff)
Quote:
Violation of PRIMARY KEY constraint 'PK_tblMemberDetails'. Cannot insert duplicate key in object 'tblMemberDetails'. The statement has been terminated.
|
2) Layout
Looking good , nice colour theme and navigation looks clear. But too many tables, you can achieve the same thing with some nice placed divs (i know you are a table man but trying something different is always good)
If you need anything extra /q me in IRC :P

Awesome wouldn't suffice - I'm a black guy with freckles, long pink hair, red eyes, a green beard, and blue lips.
I'm also wearing a thong and wellies.
According to my registration I was born in 1886.
I forgot to mention I'm also drinking a pint of Guinness.
Now I know why the internet was invented, god gave me fingers, and all the other bits and pieces.

Re: So, I Started Making A Website...
While I find the morality of pandering to the vanity of the myspace masses (as opposed to exterminating them all) somewhat lacking, I can't help but admit it's disturbingly well made.
Congrats RR, etc.

Fairly pretty I guess, but
http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=ht....homeip.net%2F
would be a good place to start...
