[Approved] Hideing Coords in saved scans
Just an idea i think it would be handy if when u saved a scan to journal you had the option to 'hide coords' so that u can paste a link without giving coords away

Re: Hideing Coords in saved scans
You can just parse them, cause it's handy for yourself to have the coords.

Re: Hideing Coords in saved scans
yea the amount of scanning i do when looking for a target i need the coords attached to scans or i would end up having to scan many times cos i had forgotten the coords, so if i wanted the coords hidden would have to parse anyways.
i would never use it and am sure a lot of ppl would be the same, think there are better things time could be spent on

Re: Hideing Coords in saved scans
yeah, im with barney here
when i play i try to get as much useful info as possible about who im attacking and this usually means i will have hundreds of past scans in the "waves" section and if i couldnt see who i scanned then it would take me ages to work it out.

I think I did aswell
I mean it would be handy for lets say battles and that so you can spam big battles all across irc getting kicked from channels and that after hammering some guy and being well chuffed coz it was like 50 planrts on 50 planets and there was blood and everything

I dunno if ppl can parse scans on sandman, but since sandman miraculously reappeared when 1up did, and disappeared when fury died, you can safely assume that the scans will be used by 1up to get intel.

Re: Hideing Coords in saved scans
Just make an option in the wave menu, where you can click to options, open wave in new window "with coords" and "without coords". Thats all you have to do...

Re: Hideing Coords in saved scans
or even in journal as u dont paste waves that much (at leaste i dont) ware cpprds make a big difference but i do like to paste the battles ware their was something intresting happened. (usually when i lose all my fleet cos i forget to jump scan)
And i dont always paste these ware
a) coords are allowed
b) ware i want poeple to get my coords (ether cos its at my planet or they newscan the find out who i am)

So dont use their parser? or better still write your own
If they coded it, they can do whatever they like with the data people put into it, and you dont have a right to complain about it.
Plus if you want to hide coords, stop being lazy. Paste the thing into notepad, do a find and replace for coords to xx:xx:xx and stop asking for useless features that very few will have a need for.
Seriously.
How often do you give a scan to your enemies?

- LCH has a parser for it's own members (but anyone can use it)
- Vision has a public parser
- pilkara had one too i believe, but i cannot check it since pilkara doesnt seem to exist anymore
- I bet there are more.
And i'm not lazy, i was answering someone :-)
