The best one I ever played was "Pinball Fantasies" (or "Pinball Dreams"), by "21st Century Entertainment" and "Frontline Design". A DOS game, incredibly nice grafix and sound for that time. The background-music actually consisted of MOD files, I mean, believe it, back in 1992. Also, the pc speaker produced an output just like from your soundcard speakers, quite good quality even, just like playing wave files from it. Never seen something like that in any other game. Worked fine on 386 20Mhz, too.
2D, but it really shows, that 3D isn't necessary for good pinball games.
4 rocking tables. Wow, what a game.
