That's actually not the intended use of the button. Microsoft introduced the "home" key back in 1965, when a breaktrough in teleportation was judged to quickly follow the invention of cold fusion. Unfortuneately, cold fusion turned out to be a hoax and the teleportation project was put on ice for a while, but we still have the home key in anticipation of the day when the computer can ask "Where do you want to go today?" and actually obey our reply.
