But a concerned woman in Canada contacted Strathclyde Police to ask if it was legal to sell children in Scotland.

isn't it in the ebay rules though that if you put something up for auction and someone buys it you're contractionally obligated to sell it to them?
bet the woman wouldn't be laughing if the canadian bought her kid instead! :P

sure, but all they can really do is give you bad feedback, and I doubt that "wouldn't sell me their son" would exactly be "negative"

if i was a judge and that case went to court... if the person who bought the boy seemed fit to be a parent i'd take their side and laugh at the real parent for doing something so stupid :P

No one can be forced to sell something that doesn't legally belong them. Also, I don't believe they said it was listed on eBay; but if it was, eBay has rules prohibiting the listing of human beings.

He, er, he gave me the shoe and said 'Here, you'll be needing it more than I will'.
Didn't seem odd at the time; nice gesture.
Shame he still had both his legs. Phoned me the other day about holes in his socks.
Needless to say I have him his shoe back.
