id have kicked the sh** out of the american medics trying to help me. Then found out where the pilots were based and kicked the sh** out of them to.
The amazing thing is even though he and his team got sharpnel wounds they still did their live broadcast completely like normal.
dont swear. its both unneccessary and the * replacement still conveys the same message...e.g. if you **** about anymore ill kick the **** out of you. - see :-) - JJ

He's a legend.
Especially when he announced the liberation of Kabul by the BBC.

not when you consider the numbers involved.
iiirc, there are 700 air combat missions being flown every day, for two weeks, which makes...
9800 missions
There have been, what, 5 friendly fire incidents ?
thats 0.05%

Aren't special forces supposed to have TacBe radios (not sure if thats how you spell it) so that they can attempt to contact planes that are flying nearby and warn them you are friendly?
I know the SAS had them in the First Gulf War, so you'd think even the Americans would have them by now.

John Simpson is a consummate professional. A credit to the BBC.
Id like to hear Tony Blair complain of "Biased" coverage of the war now.

Simpson has actually been complained about by the Government, in Kosovo I believe. however the BBC stood by him, told the government to get lost, and all the locals thought he was a hero. His autobiographies are a damn good read too.

heh
even i respected his reporting on Kosovo because he didn't always dismiss all Serb inhabitants of the province as the bad guys, like the rest of the media was doing

if that's why the british government criticised him
siding with 'the enemy?'

anyone who saw his report showing the footage of when the missile hit last night will agree he is of legendary status.
Possibly the best (yet at the same time horrific) news report I've ever seen.
