No , then it asked you for your password for the new account. It doesnt need access to your hotmail account, but you do have to activate it from the email address you give.

Re: Free SMS?
sms.ac has had some bad reports, about it sending unsolicited messages (costing you 50p a time to receive them). Of course, I'd hate to be one to spread unsubstantiated rumours, but maybe worth checking out...

Re: Free SMS?
I signed up for sms.ac ages ago, but don't your friends have to sign up or something? I've never used it.

Re: Free SMS?
On sms.ac:
NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER USE THIS SORRY EXCUSE FOR A SERVICE!
Myself and one of my uni mates signed up for it because she was out of money and phone credit (legit reason) and I'm a tightarse (so the result serves me right).
The afforementioned result was that we both got spammed with dating messages indescriminate of which sex they came from, for which we were charged.
The link to cancel the account isn't exactly made obvious either.

ICQ used to give you free texts. Not sure if it does now.

When I signed up to o2 back in 2001, they used to give out 300 free texts a month. Then that changed to 100, down to 30 and now they give me 10 text messages a month. I'm not sure why though.
