Re: Fence it to the top!
definately!
i dont think it matters who will 'win' or 'lose' in our little war, we are enjoying it either way.. and its made for some fun BReps and crashes on both sides, i think
and xVx are good sport, despite this secret mentionings of them deserving some incs, or something.

Re: Fence it to the top!
Because hitting F-Crew is suicide. Not because they're tactical geniuses, but because they don't mind crashing into and through defence (or don't notice it being there in the first place, which has the same result).
P.S. ****ing hell, your signature is shit.

I suspect it's over the 10 line limit.
Please reduce it.

Re: Fence it to the top!
Surely this kind of thing should be taking place in PM anyway, and not in public. It seems sort of similar to people not using the report function, which ironically is something Lok has complained about in the past.

We notice the defence, we just aren't so bothered about bringing every single ship home as others are. If the gains outweigh the losses and it won't have too much of a negative impact on future attacks then why not land.
Also we play a game where there is an element of deception to it. As an attacker you can bluff your attack and as a defender you are in an even more powerful position to bluff your defence. As such you have to try and read what the other fleets are doing and we encourage our members not to pull on the first sign of defence but to run a few calcs based on what the scans (AU's for the planet and the defenders and newsscans on all to help guesstimate what they are doing) and sandmans are telling you and then a calc based on the worst case and then listening to your gut instinct if its worth taking a calculated risk. Most of the time it pays off, occasionally it results in a crash but either way its rarely a blind crash (obviously every alliance has the odd person who forgets to recalls for some reason)
Too many people in this game pull at the first sign of defence when 10mins of investifation would show they would get through with a profit being made. And too many defenders ignore the gains being made by an attacker and leave their ships defending something that they assme will make a recall and leave themselves with large losses as they havent calced the full gains correctly

Well.. it could mean that say if alliance X was busy fighting alliance Y. And alliance X see that alliance B is rising past them. And alliance X consider both Y and B a threat to their dominance, and either can't or won't get out of the fight with alliance Y. So they hire alliance D to do some soft targeting of alliance B. Just hit some alliance B heavy gals.. maybe give the alliance B planet some more incomings and say it's all cause they are roid heavy. This would prolly hold up in court, but still logic dictates otherwise.

Or maybe alliance D is just annoyed with alliance B for perfectly legitimate reasons.

But then u would be admitting alliance D's guilt in starting the attack on alliance B. And make it perfectly legal for alliance B to attack alliance D.

Who says alliance D's reason wasn't "alliance B attacked us"?
On a sidenote, I'm not arguing alliance B "shouldn't" have attacked alliance D or that there should be rules stating which alliance can target which. If the #1 alliance feels like hitting the #10 alliance, by all means, let them do it. It'd be sad and stupid, but they're free to do as they wish.

It is imply'ed. My point was alliance D acted on alliance X's orders and u argued that alliance D could have done it for their own reasons. Which is kinda like admitting guilt. Also that Alliance D's attacks on alliance B's increased by 400% can't simply be explained by the fact that alliance B was fat. Cause logic dictates otherwise. 400% increase is a bit to much of a coincidence.

Re: Fence it to the top!
thats funny our hostiles list says different with 20% from urwins, you would think an allliance fighting for the top spot would not let its members solo so what conclusion can be drawn from that , only that urwins are flaking for xvx

I'd say it's a lot more likely a combination of urwins having poor member control and bad intel on rock's part makes it look like they're targetting you than that hey actually are targetting you. At least I'd hope they're not targetting you, you're not fat and ND are slightly er winning.

You are missing the point completely. You're talking about guilt. If a word like guilt is at all in order here (which I dont think it is), then surely it applies to the alliance that threw the first stone? And if this alliance is alliance B (a scenario that is perfectly plausible, because as you said, newbie bashing makes people's epenis grow), then is alliance D not completely justified (another word which I believe is not in order, but alas) in hitting alliance D back?
In fact, I could completely reverse your scenario to fit my own propagandistic purposes, simply by swapping alliance X and Y, as well as B and D. However, this does not make it any more true than the original scenario.
As far as I can oversee it, xVx (B) hit rock (D) in a time they knew D was more vulnerable. Neither X nor Y are involved here, although they might very well be fighting a war of their own. D gets pissed off and decides to strike back. Since D wasn't in the run for the win anyway, it doesn't have much to lose. However, constant attacks might very well stagnate B's growth in such a way that they also won't win; a scenario which indeed seemed to have played out, signified by B going from #1 to #3.

What made alliance D more vulnerable at the time alliance B hit them? And how did alliance B know that?
Also could also put it like alliance D where hitting smaller stones at alliance B's car, and made some scratches in the paint. So alliance B took a big stone and hammered alliance D's car.

As said before I'm just a peon. But we all know planet targeting 1 planet here and one there etc... is not as efficient as attacking gals. Also u can count on a strike back after. So logic implies that xVx had some reason for hitting Rock. Misunderstood or not, there was a reason. And it sertainly wasn't to get some easy roids or something. xVx belived Rock to be targeting xVx and they hit Rock back. That is my understanding of the situation.
Who else hit Rock I have no clue. But if u say 20% from urwins, it is likely that some coords are wrong and some are random incomings. I'm sure urwins could have managed better if they had it out for u guys.

Re: Fence it to the top!
what possible reason could the #1 (at time of initial p-targetting of rock by xvx) have for hitting #7, you know where to find me if you wanna give me a laugh as to xvx's reason for that
we didnt roll over and die instead we took the hit and hit back , hard enough to drop you guys out of the running for #1 spot in ally rankings

As others have stated before... the reason was a big increase in incomings from Rock over a long period of time.

Just because xvx and urwins hit you on the same day doesn't mean anyones flaking for anyone. Flaking would be incorrect terminology.

Then I belive u missed the point of the scenario. Go back and see what it was in responce to in the first place. U claimed that because it was only Rock incomings that increased on xVx radar that they weren't flaking for anyone. And u said this to be bulletproof due to your logic. I decided to present a scenario that would explain how Rock could still be flaking for another alliance without said alliance attacking along.
Also it was after this increased incomings that xVx decided to target Rock.

Re: Fence it to the top!
I never said it was impossible that Rock is fighting for another alliance, I just said it was untrue.
Also, the word flak generally indicates some sort of assymetric relationship in which alliance A does a lot of work to ensure that alliance B profits, usually alliance A soaking all defence of alliance C, D and/or E so that alliance B can get easy roids. Since there was no alliance B (as indicated by incomings from rock going up by 400% and incomings from no other alliance experiencing a similar growth), there can't be any flakking going on.

Do feel free to respond to the other replies i did aswell...
And the rules of what the master have to do in a master-flak relationship differ depending on how large scale the flaking is going on. All u did in this reply was to debate if the name flak was appropriate or not, u didn't address the issue.

Re: Fence it to the top!
If there is no flak, there is no issue.
I must admit I'm getting rather tired of this discussion, I'm starting to need to repeat myself. Feel free to get the last word, I'm out.

yea i think we had lots of fun hehe, even tho we lost roids, but luckyly there were great breps coming for many ticks from defences
anyways someone stated earlier that Storebo is just a peon and why has he started to talk here.. simple.. why should HC`s bother with this nonsene :P ? think they got more important things to do than read and reply to all the rumours..

Re: Fence it to the top!
To get back to the original point it looks like xVx will not manage to "fence it to the top" by "avoiding playing pa as a wargame". Instead this round seems to be relatively comfortably in hand for ND, or perhaps CT, unless some players leave their tags on the last day of the round.
