Watch out or Henry will accuse you of laying on the praise too heavily and how he isn't allowed to write about drugs in the same manner without lots of accusatory degrading remarks.
On the other hand, take some screenies and stuff and tell us how it plays mate.

Played It
Hated it
Ebayed It
Its a lot different, and really awkward to manage at times. Fluctuations in number at locations, even on the lower levels, makes managing the business an impossibility at the slowest speeds.

I really like Chris Sawyer, although that's because he did the PC version of Frontier.
He also wrote the last couple of assembly-written mainstream titles I think.
I never actually played TT though.

Crosslinking TT on 2 486's was both fun and very addictive. I very much hope so that Locomotion will live up to the (my) expectations. Does anyone know yet when it is to be released? Or is it already out there..waiting for me to pick it up?

Every single review gives that game an average rating. I'll give it a miss.

If it hasnt been released, then this Box next to me with the game in it , manual in it, and proper cover, which i paid £19.99 in Game for yesterday, must be the best damned forgery i have ever seen.
(Yes its out, get it from play.com , its probably cheaper there)

I ignore online reviews. Just remember one thing when reading an online review
" Everyone wants to make a name for themselves"

Re: Thank You God! Its FINALLY here
I've been playing Locomotion for hours now.. Taken me a little while to work things out and on every level progress starts really slowly but once you get the hang of it, you're off building buses, trams and trains all over the place. Linking residential areas with bus, tram and train routes and industry with trains that carry things like livestock or coal / ore etc . I've yet to get to build any sea ports or airports. Once you have "won" the challenge you are free to either quit that one and move to the next or continue on playing.
I like it.

Re: Thank You God! Its FINALLY here
The Complete Kurashima Review of Locomotion
Lunchtimes are boring in Douglas. A cheap lunch from the chinese, a wander through town looking at items i can buy but have no need for, and the inevitable visit to GAME to see games i probably wont be interested in.
But today was different. Today, whilst browsing the shelves, a game almost leapt out at me. In huge letters were the words "Chris Sawyer", and i was hooked. The name itself brought out in me memories of a better time, an unemployed time, with a 633 Celeron, and 8meg voodoo2 graphics card, an Acer monitor, and not much else to do with my unemployment. And yet i knew that Sawyer had moved on from Transport Tycoon, and was doing things with rollercoasters and theme parks, and had shyed away from the sequel he promised us 10 years ago that he would do. And yet i read the packaging, and thought "Why didnt i know about this", since i frequent more than my fair share of Transport Tycoon websites.
But my mind was made up. The credit card was whipped out, the purchase made, and the game was now mine, and i had 4 hours of work to imagine what i had purchased.
The Game
First impressions : WTF?
The game itself seemed to be the same as before, but when I started to play the way i did with TT, I quickly found myself out of money and out of business. The ratings system didnt appear to be purely financial, and my policy of connecting towns with long railway lines didnt bring the ratings, or the cash. I found my attempts to deliver cargo generated very little cash, and didnt affect my rating at all, but that creating small, local bus networks very quickly improved my ratings, and to a lesser degree increased my cash flow. However as i worked my way through the challenges, i began to realise that the game did have much more to it than small local bus networks. Yes , theyre good for small, short term gain, and can build a solid financial platform for when your business model goes tits up and your rapid expansion and takeovers dont deliver the millions you anticipate. This is a thinkers game. Linking two huge towns with a high speed rail link may seem a great idea, but without frequent service, and an integrated network that can move your passengers from the station elsewhere within the town, it quickly becomes a burden as your stations fill up with unhappy, unmoveable passengers. Cargo likewise can be delivered early but requires many small trucks which the road network is rarely capable of coping with. Early cargo runs are best done with trains, cheap engines and high capacity wagons being your best friend. The effect to your rating will be negligible, and if youre not moving the finished product from the Steel Mill / Factory , youll quickly find it has a negative effect on your oh so important rating (you can have millions , with a 10% rating, youll never complete a challenge).
Verdict : 8/10 so far. Ive yet to get to the more futuristic challenges and develop a 400mph Maglev, and i sense when this occurs, ill move it up to a 9/10. Its not the perfect game, but its the natural successor to TT, and easily the best game in its genre.
