didn't we post this last round? i figured it was changed already, but was surprised when i saw it during the shuffle. i don't see why it would be such a difficult thing to change that it already hasn't been done

I agree it makes sense though.
I think you missed the spirit of Hude's suggestion. The key point was to alert people up front that the game is down. The improtant fact here is that the login is useless for players. They need to be informed of this before they login, not after.
ah cool. i was gonna say that you could even just add a line above the 'username field' or something that says 'hey the game is broken, logging in is useless!'
