"commercial" work
just phoned the job agency to ask if there was any office/clerical work available and they told me to take down my CV and they'd see what was available.

They said if there wasn't any clerical work there was a lot of 'commercial' work.

What exactly did the mean by commercial?

Warehouse type stuff at a guess, given shops dont tend to take on temp staff.

Theres usually a call for warehouse people though. Most dont stick at it long so they just use temps.

yeah that's what i thought but never heard it referred to as 'commercial' before

yeh... well... I guess they think that office/clerical work is meant to be public, and that other stuff is commercial.
You should have asked what they meant with it.

packing, picking, bar work, catering, cleaning etc.

I'm looking for any kind of summer job atm been trying to get one for 2 weeks now .

Working in a warehouse (as a temp) is better (in my experience) than being a temp in an office.
