If the PA world cup thing...
If that PA world cup speed game thing was like the real world cup when only players from the same country could be in a gal together who would win?

Probably the United Kingdom.
They hold a rather large portion of the PA playerbase, and as such they have enough good players to make it to the top. Germany could probably give them some good competition, although the UK players are imo a bit better on the politics side of things.
I'd rank Norway and the Netherlands as dangerous outsiders.

If it were England we could look forward to a struggle for the WC like that of the football kind(where england obviously 0wn )
England vs Germany - now how you settle penalties in PA?

depends on gal size, all countries have enough good players to fill a gal so would be down to politics:
uk
germany
norway
lith
romania
anzac
holland
us
there's a lot of countries out there capable of winning, skill wise too close to call would be down to politics and i dont really think UK is that great at politics
a worldcup pa normal round would be interesting, still politics would be involved but not to a great extent as in speedgames and numbers could kind of be representative as well, kind of like in a war (in the old days) or football (numbers to select from) gives a slight advantage. With the UK alliance rocking

why has no-one mentioned Finland with Jurgen and Liz etc or Australia?
but anyways, if it was just down to skill I'd say Lithuania.

England (UK) would promise a lot, beat one of the best galaxies in the competition, and then go out on penalties.

No, that's the Netherlands.
The UK would boast about being the best and the cup coming home, and then get cnutted by someone who is actually better than them.

Pure skill Holland...
We proved that during last speedround..
We where #1 in no time, roiding/attacking is our trademark... We where so damn #1, without politics... It would be hard to take us down..
But in Politics.... Nah....
So I think Germany...
Why.... Cause they are evol!

hehe, gotta laugh at that part, most of the really good manipulation kings have come from here(lo Ghengis, Sid, Killmark among some)
overall TBHthere isnt a deffinetive winner, as its all due to luck most of the time, you can only manipulate so far before the other galaxies decide you've gone too far and unite against you

Someone pays too much attention to the tabloids.
Win a match:

Lose a match:
'WERE TERRIBLE, ALL THE PLAYERS SHOULD BE SHOT'

I believe Norway, England or the Kiwis would win.
to be honest i dont understand why no one have mentioned the kiwis, they proved themself strong in the last WC. Kile etc are form that region.
Norway got spinner and he's got admin tools They also got a strong memberbase and a good group of people with a long PA history and the skills needed for a speedgame.
England got Sid...

The ANZACs would never win again, because we arent gonna play until we get our GF4s :>
So if there was ever a second world cup, no one could claim being the "best" region, as the title holders wouldnt be present
It would be kinda like the soccer world cup without Brazil
Although im confident that if we played, we would be able to win again... but who can really be bothered taking a few days off work and screwing ur body clock for the next few weeks....
And we only won the first WC through the politics we played. TheUnknown did a brilliant job, coupled with splatpacks tact, and the planet management abilitys of ish and myself.... who has a chance?
lol

1. Offer GF4s.
2. Wait a year or two till they're virtually being given away free with packets of cornflakes.
3. Profit \o/

That's what i meant, we have the great politicians but we're also ****y fkers and eventually people would just team on us, take the first world cup speed game as an example, darkjedi's gal (i still reckon my gal was better *bitter* +++) was hyped they had the skill and the political prowess but the anzac gal won because they were the good guys (fencesat) and nobody had a problem with them.

Darkjedi's gal was the best in the worldcup for playing ability (excepting me), and I think possibly the best politically. I think the thing that we weren't so good at was the internal politics - I don't think anybody would mind me saying that we had arguments, and a lot of differing views over how certain things should be done - when we should attack the top galaxy etc, and I think in the end, this is the area the kiwis/Ausies (don't remember which) managed to outdo us on. The internal disagreements did cost us a lot of time, and there was more than one tantrum had within the galaxy - but when you get a collection of such big names and egos, that is inevitable.

I think one thing your forgetting in this is the self preception that ones personal region is the best or his/her galaxy is the best in skill and politics can potentially lead to a rather fast droping in the rankings from smaller unknown or rather discounted factors.

i'd say any country could win, you just have to do your politics right, and have a bit of luck. Its always like that, and it wont change. every country has quality players.

Why? Because we are so small country we could easily collect in a lan.

A more interesting question:
Which players would you want in your gal if they could only be from your country?

Winner would be random. Lots of countries can make equivelently skilled galaxies, it would come down to the random flow of the game and politics whihc isnt really based on skill in such a situation, it would mostly depend on situational random factors of who needed whos help at what time.

i loved the Holland-Germany during the euro quals in the first speedround.. give new worldcup!
but ofc winners of a speedround always need luck/backstabbing/nap-to-much-people, so i guess the germans win

To say the ANZAC gal didnt have a lot of skill is untrue, thats just the image we tried to portray... and it worked
We had Ish (#1 r5), Myself (#1 R7), TU (#1 R7 b4 deletion), Dingo (nfi where he has ranked, but he is a top player), Splatpack (every gal needs a moron), Sera (he is sew cute & top 50 consistently~), Phillup (still owes em my $10 that fker) cant remember the others :| but they were all good ;D
Whereas the other gals had a lot of R3 'big names' and we all know how unproffesional pa was back in r3
Kiwis have nearly won as many rounds as the Lithuanians, and we only have a population of 3 million, with about 100 that play pa

If it was only countries, I doubt New Zealand or Australia would win. Allowed to combine again, I think it would be a different story.. ANZAC > you (pretty much)

Well without the time-difference advantage I think the kiwi's would have done a bit worse...

advantage? is that because when we attack, most of PA is asleep? When you are all asleep, we attack yes. When we are asleep, you attack. There are way way more of you attacking when we are asleep, than vise-versa. Wouldn't it be more of a disadvatage?

It's easier for you to find someone in the european/us timezone to keep an eye on your galstatur or newsscan "you" than it is for "us" fnding a australian/new zealand peon doing the same for "us".

I spent most of R7 online from
11pm cest to 3pm cest, with being no more than 2 minutes away from the net via sms when I slept.
Dont think the time difference would have made a huge difference
And in a speed game, it makes no difference, since everyone is online for the whole time anyways. In actual fact, the last speed game was hardest on the Anzacs, as it didnt start til about 10pm local time and finished @ midday the following day.
