Let's see if Dutch TV reports anything about it now. The normal programming was on at around 2 hours after the incident.

However when one of our politicians gets assasinated we have the same Americanism here. (tho it is the first time this ever happened in the Netherlands)

Nothing but replays and so called eye-witnesses and specialists and the whole thing YUCK!

yes, but that happened in your own country, so the media coverrage is normal, this isnt normal, im not from the us :/
today i had the choice between a movie form the early 90s which i have seen about 20 times now and interviews, opinions and live coverage of that accident. i dont want to sound tasteless, after all some people died, which isnt a good thing, but is it really necessary to tell me about on tv for 12 hours??

Either way, I don't think UK had 1hr interruptions, it was mentioned on the news longer than any other story that is all...

sky news did not have any advert breaks during the time i watched it, nor was any other news mentioned.

Well I hardly get to watch TV, and the Saturday that I got to, some bloody rocket fragments. And all day, and no doubt for the next year, on almost every single channel they were showing the same stuff, with the same annoying news man #%@!.

It seems to me that they are turning this into a national event in order to BRING THE PEOPLE TOGETHER.

Which is a bit ****, like more people have died cos of the 'snow' in England.

Tragedys are .
Last night, when i was very drunk, i went from the party is was on to get me some food.
When i got to the center off the place where i live, i decided to go up to the train-station, to see if there was any people i know there.
When i went there, there was police and paramedics there.
Some guy had died on the tracks, just before i came there.
