10's been no worse than 9 for me, though it has a tendency to lock the system for a couple of seconds every time I start it. Don't seem to have been any significant improvements over WMP9 though, but seeing as I only use WMP for DivX's and the odd DVD i'm not too arsed either way.

WMP 9 ****ed up things for my system, WMP 10 sorta fixed things but not altogether. Once I put on a fresh install of SP2...its fine.

Still dont use it for mp3's etc to be honest, don't trust it.

So for everything other than music.

In 9 you had the option to make it 'Always on top in skin mode'.

Now you only have the option 'Always on top'.

What arsehole decided to change that option?

I have some avi files it won't play
I can't find anything that will play them - i've downloaded codecs, different media players, avi-fixers everything
I'm starting to think i may have downloaded 350mb of crap

Can anyone help me?

maybe the file is corrupted. you can also try to watch it with the avi-previewer that comes with kazaa lite, that thing really plays everything.

I've never really had any problems with it, seems better than version 8 which is what I had before but then again I've never really used either.

incidently theres a media player out there which will run realmedia files... again

its brilliant. no Real crap plastered everywhere. Its just simple and works.

I find it plays ~50% of my files, while WMP plays all of them. !
