Alliance recruitmentform

I have a suggestion.

Why dont we make a alliance recruitmentform?

That way all the new alliances who wants to make a recruitmentthread could fill out that form, and it will be posted as an recruitmentthread.

This will be very good help for thoose who are new to the game and who wants to make an alliance.

Re: Alliance recruitmentform

What you seem to be asking for Kargool would as Doorsdown points out very much like my alliance overview thread. However such standardised recruitment posts arent really going to get an alliance many members as it doesnt really show the 'heart' of the alliance. One of the main points behind my thread was not to replace the recruitment thread but to compliment it. Anyone who needs an alliance can go on the thread, see whos recruiting and who isnt and then use this and the other info supplied to draw up a shortlist. Then its for them to visit the recruitment thread and the IRC channel to find out what the alliance is really about.

Anyway a proper recruitment thread shouldnt be able to be posted through a form as the information should be presented in a unique way and structure as its this that helps build an alliances identity and help people identify with the alliance. Its about being somewhat creative, getting your beliefs across and being unique as thats what sells your alliance.

HOWEVER perhaps the imgame forum system could be changed to allow a default threads to be created when the alliance is. One of these could be a thread about advertising your alliance and thus pointing them not only to my thread, but also to the alliance recruitment forum in general with a few tips on creating a thread. This might encourage people to get their alliance info out there. The system could also be used to put other useful setup threads on the forum automatically to aid alliance creation and management

But why should we have a forum full of near identical posts that really do very little to help people choose an alliance. If every single new alliance ends up with basically the same post what reason do they give anyone to join them.

I mean seriously if we have

Quote:
Name: Alliance A
IRC: #alliancea
Other: We require a decent level of IRC activity from all members
and then

Quote:
Name: Alliance B
IRC: #allianceb
Other: Applicants need to be IRC active
how do you decide which alliance to join, they would be 'recruitment thread by numbers' and lack any charachter and hence lack any real use for people looking for an alliance to join. It doesnt have to be pages long but does need to give people a reason to join you rather than someone else

And lets be honest here, if a hc member cant find 30-60 mins over a handful of days to read AR to pick up tips and then throw their own thread together they may as well quit before they even start. For a new alliance the most important thing is to get members and recruitement should be a top priority and if they dont have the time to do this part well they simply dont have the time to run an alliance and they are about to dupe a handful of innocent players into getting tied up in a failed project that causes them harm

Re: Alliance recruitmentform

Kargool while your idea is good and i like it, it just too simple. for an alliance to go on as wakey said a HC or a Officer should atleast be looking at these forums and the AD/AR sections. How else are they going to draw in new or diffrent players. The forums are always reffrenced and almost all noobs end up at them pritty fast. So in this case making things simpler isn't a good thing.
