The Streets
Why do people think they're good?
And what genre would they be categorised as? (I dont think "rubbish" counts as a genre.)

Personally I would classify them as British hip hop, though this whole pigeon holing of bands can be taken too far imo.

Re: The Streets
Ah, must have missed that thread. :/
The reason i was asking was because their new track was on Radio 1 (it was a bit cack, tbh), and it was quite different to their last one (which was 'ok', i s'pose). But nvm.

They're new single is ok. I can tolerate it than the other crap they released 'Fit but You know it'.

They're great.
The album is great.

Re: The Streets
i dont know if it has been done before but i like the idea behind the new album, that the whole album is a story (i imagine that it has, its too much of an easy idea not to have been)
but i think that they have done it well and with quite nice music
(disclaimer, i dont normally listen to this type of music either, but for some reason the streets just seem to have grown on me)

Re: The Streets
2pac and most of the rappers from East/West Side did it.
Telling stories on how they got shot 5 times and live to tell the tale.

If you look at the tracklistings on the Creed albums then it gives a kind of chapter title view of a story, which with my reasonably vivid imagination I am able to fill the chapters in.
You can see the story though.
