Why do people always justify try to doing things they enjoy by saying "i was bored"?
I only made this thread because I had nothing better to do.

Because if you dont have an "escape route" as such for what you do on the internet, people jump on you.

And why do people have to voice their indecisiveness?
Its dull, boring and I really don't care.

because if you admit to posting all day on the internet, you are regarded as a social misfit.

Because society says that anyone who displays a passion about anything is evil and sick.

That is pretty damn cool. It reads just like a Zinn/Chomsky diatribe.
Except the bit about pipe weed, that's just ****. But bit about "the perpetual state of cold war" is .

Now that I see you're here can I ask for a sensible recommendation on communist/socialist economic theory? There was a huge selection in town, but some of them looked downright awful and I didn't want to waste my money.

I dislike their selection, it's horribly limited really. Next year I have the use of the trinity college library who have a right to a copy of every single book published in the British isles though!

yes, but as a general rule, all the libraries in your county are part of the same authority, and can order books from each other for a nominal fee, so if you take a book name/author name in, they might be able to get them for you, you never know!

COMMUNIST!
Anyway, not strictly economics, but these all cover vaguely Marxist views on the important issues in economics :
Expositions :
The Ragged Trousered Philanthropists (novel) - Robert Tressell
Das Kapital - Karl Marx
The Condition of the Working Class in England - Fredirich Engels
Contemporary :
No Logo - Naomi Klein
Profit over People - Noam Chomsky
Elite Transition - Patrick Bond (about South Africa/Neo-liberalism)
Historical :
Imperialism : The Highest Stage of Capitalism - V. I. Lenin
Models in Political Economy - Michael Brown
Age Of.... (Revolutions/Empire) - Eric Hobsbawm
Industry and Empire - Eric Hobsbawm
They all cover a range of economics questions. Obviously Das Kapital is good, but you'll inevitably lose the will to live once you've read the phrase "surplus value labour" for the eight hundredth time.

Picked the four most interest sounding ones, which did not include Marx (who I tried reading but got bored after a couple of days and went back to nietzche. He really does get a bit histrionical at times I think, and this does him no favours when he's trying to postulate the science of politics as a logical theory).
