So who do you think that Rooney will end up signing for?
Just watching Sky Sports News (mostly to dance with joy that Liverpool have got rid of Traore), and aside from the UEFA cup draw (boring), the big story of the day is that Man U are expected to increase their offer for Rooney, and outbid Newcastle. Everton are reported to be holding out for 25 million.
Do you think that Rooney is worth 25 million? I personally don't - he's still only 18, and he still has a lot of football to learn.
I think he will end up signing for Man U. I mean come on, your 18, and Newcastle and Man Utd both want to sign you. Who do you choose? There's no way I'd want to go and play for the barcodes.
What say you?

He's not worth more than Viera.

Get off my forums.
Besides, it's also reported that ol' Freddie has put aside c30m for Rooney.
Although he's most certainly not worth that. I'd prefer to spend £20m on a couple of decent defenders and keep the rest for a rainy day.

Re: So who do you think that Rooney will end up signing for?
In the long run, if he improves by every season you could just end up saying "I guess he's living up to his price tag". He'll end up going to Man U because they're more successful (in terms of reaching the CL) and guaranteed playing in Europe every season, they've got a bigger reputation and can offer a better contract than the Toons, a lot of youngsters are playing for them and we generally see them improve (I still believe that Chadwick had some talent).
Frankly I'd rate Rooney high above than Drogba. I mean Drogba at £24m? Give me a break.

It all depends on how many hookers they include in his contact. And whichever city has the most sleezy dens of iniquity.
Later it will depend on which is closest to the drink and drugs rehabilitation centre.

Re: So who do you think that Rooney will end up signing for?
You're right RR but a few years back newcastle would have won the title for the most prozzies.

Manchester rocks for cruising at night. It's like Middlesborough, but habitable.
Not that I've ever done that of course...

Re: So who do you think that Rooney will end up signing for?
So how much is a shag in Manchester or Newcastle then? (With a decent enough hooker ofc)
I've never been privvy to the actual cost of a shag, I've only ever heard like $1500 for the high class hookers in LA.
I bet it doesn't really matter to Rooney. Not that he's rich, I bet he gets a discount rate for buying in bulk.

Re: So who do you think that Rooney will end up signing for?
For the player, and englands sake, I'd rather he went to United. Robson has no control over the younger members of his squad, with Dyer and Jenas turning into arrogant little ****s who should be thrown off a cliff.

Re: So who do you think that Rooney will end up signing for?
I think he will go to Man Utd, he will have more success there, play at a higher level with better players and can get paid more.
I don't really see why Newcastle are after him though. They have plenty of strikers anyway with defence being their weakest point. I also can't see Rooney scoring over 20 goals a year to replace Shearer, or not for a while anyway. With Robson going at the end of the season as well I would have thought they would be better off keeping the money so the new manager can bring in the players he wants.

Re: So who do you think that Rooney will end up signing for?
A lot of you are saying "why would he go to newcy when theres so many good strikers there?" Kluivert is over 30, and Shearer retires at the end of the season dont forget.
Does Saha, Smith, and Van Nistelrooy (all under 30, all committed) look at easier to break into once they are fit? No of course it doesnt.
If Drogba is worth 24 million rooney is worth 35. But simple fact is Drogba isnt worth 24 million (in fact i cant believe that transfer ever happened).
Real value of wayne rooney - probably around 18 million.

Re: So who do you think that Rooney will end up signing for?
yah, also bare in mind when you talk about vieira's value you are looking at never getting that back for him, with rooney you can prolly get it back for him after a few seasons, vieira has 6 years left in his career, rooney has 15, prices sometimes reflect the resale value, hence a 24 million 28/29 yo is worth more than a 30 million 18 yo if you look at it realistically without getting all wound up.

Re: So who do you think that Rooney will end up signing for?
Whereever he goes, he will go for atleast 25mill pounds. Though I would think Manchester United stand highest on Rooneys wishlist.
It should ofcourse be said, that Arsene Wenger bought Henry (10mill), Viera (4mill), Pires(6mill), Gilberto Silva (5mill) for what Rooney is to be sold at
I rather have Viera, Henry, Pires and Silva than Rooney... hehe.

It would be easier breaking into newcastles team than Man U's. I am really hoping he doesnt go to Man U because i hate them with all my heart.
But thats my opinion....feel free to flame me

He said he wanted to be in a club that gets into Europe every season.
So he'll be going to Man U then.
