Cinema Ticket Prices
How much does an adult fare cost for the cinema in your area? Student types dont reply with 'Im a student I pay £1' etc. Im asking for just adult tickets.
I just rang the cinema near my parents house (Tunbridge Wells, Kent) and the robbing sods want £7.30 for a ticket. That seems like an awful lot.
So is it just this area that has stupid cinema prices or is it your area aswell?

Not too ad if you are a student or have an Orange mobile. In Cardiff which is where the nearest decent cinema is and I think that costs about £5.

that would be the UGC. It's a nce cinema and decently priced even if you're not a student. UCI is nice but it's on the bay which is a bit of a pain to get to unless you have a car.

I always go VIP in Jersey, which costs about £8. For that you get nice big seats, your own "booth" above everyone else which is enclosed so you can talk, plus bar service. For an extra £2 it's easily worth it.
Cinema normally costs £3.50 before 5pm and £6 after 5pm where I am from, except on the "deal nights".

jersey cinemas sound lovely.
Its a pity, people are put off going to the cinema when they are squeezed in like cattle in places with sticky floors and loud chavs.
but of course.
that makes me a snob.

Re: Cinema Ticket Prices
I paid $8.25 for an adult ticket to Star Wars episode III during prime time. This was one of the nicer theaters in the area too.

Re: Cinema Ticket Prices
I used to say "what's the point of VIP".
Then you experience a superior cinema experience.
And you wonder how you lived without it.
I had to watch Star Wars 3 with someone I didn't know sitting next to me!
And all the rabble chatted throughout the adverts
Do they not know the adverts are the best bit?!

Perhaps they hadn't seen Episode III before and weren't aware that they were disrupting the high point of the evening.

£6.70 where I live - bloody outrageous.
NUS card means I can get in for £4.70 which isn't too bad.

Go wipe your arse with another £50 note.

Wehn I'm home, I try to go to the delux screen if the film I want to see is on there. Bigger, comfier seats and they bring food and drink to you. I htink it's about £7.50, and there is no NUS.

Re: Cinema Ticket Prices
Eight euro fifty for an evening showing. Six euro for the afternoon with fifty cent off if you have student ID. They moved it up the day star trek episode III was released quite laughably. I usually get two for the price of one (illegal stealing like) so it doesn't bother me that much.

Re: Cinema Ticket Prices
I paid £7 to see Star Wars in Leicester Square.
Usually it's about £6. Some cinemas have decent enough deals which can reduce the cost to £3 or so if you're going off-peak. Generally I only watch films I expect to enjoy (Star Wars being the obvious exception) and so I don't really mind paying whatever.
