Xans rule!
I was sector scanning the top planets, because I was curious what the top players thought a good Terran fleet would be, so I could copy it. However, I got quite a surprise - ALL of the top seven planets are Xan! Check it out:

I'm not surprised.
1. It's a random universe;
2. It's free (so plenty of escorts available);
3. They ignored 1+2 and decided to upgrade xans.
Xans weakened by a full tech tree? Perhaps a bit. But that never kept xans from keeping top positions once they got them in earlier rounds. An advantage is they can build a fleet soon when they come out of protection still giving them a headstart.

True Gerbie.
And taking a glance at nightly attacks the Xandathrii targets are the ones left unpicked or the ones picked last with *moan*.

Xans have proven time and time again that no matter how much you nerf them, they are always quite succesful.
Remember though, its still reletively early enough in the round (i hope) for the race composition to change...
Anyway, this re-enforces my point - choosing a race has 0 impact on whether you win or not - its the plethora of lemmings, your activity, luck and most importantly alliance (incl BG) that determine whether you win. There has been no strategy in this game since.... R6 (perhaps R7 with new pods).

Also cath were impopular in this random round which makes the Xan world a lot easier cause cath can attack them with great ease.
Clealry there is a need for more pegasi, cutters and beetles to stop this Xan rout

Being A Cath even, I favor terran targets over Xan targets. Why, it may be my fleet composition. I just don't have enough beetles to freeze a fighter-only fleet (well, I've never spotted a small xand with as many roids as the medium terrans I can attack with ease, if you know my point).

Hehe. I built 3 of them. They are slow but actually very good. Great armor and firepower. If only a cath had those in stead of avengers, the universe would be different.

If not for Chimera - Terrans are joy!
not many of them build dragons, so that's good.

Any smart xand can triple the effective size of their roiding fleet. If you get away with that even semi-regularly it's quite a nice boost to your roid income.

Probably beetles, roaches and BW's only fleet will be most effective. Probably in a ratio 10:7:4 in ships numbers. Off course tarants would be the better option if you don't need the have a fast anti DE def fleet.

The current xan fleets I am seeing sadden me.
The entire idea of xan has been reduced to 1 million fighters and 30 vultures. People don't know how to build a normal fleet anymore, all the easier for me ofcourse because my beetles get to own everyone know.
Maybe you should all consider that the next time you get 3k FI and 100 vults incomming you can get it covered by having spiders send at you in a one tick interval.

With a Xan you can't tell the differnce between a real fleet coming or a fake.. So you can farm 3 planets at the time... This way you can get top10 really quick...
In this post I mean farming as in LEGAL(just attack real planets) and illegal(attack planets you, or "a friend" controls)
Let's just hope most do it legal \0/
Ofc farming with Terran will get discovered 10 times quicker, then a xan attacking
