childhood movie
Im making a statement, which I dont think anyone in the world can disprove.
Stand By Me is the best childhood movie ever, and will always remain a classic that takes you back to your youth with a smile.

Re: childhood movie
I preferred the Neverending story. Or all those god awful films Corey Haim made such as 'license to drive' (and The Lost Boys which was actually good)

while the neverending story was a great movie, Stand by me had things that
a) you did at that age
b) you wanted to do at that age
c) they were done a hell of a lot better than you ever did, or would have done them.
And lost boys is good for so many different reasons. (eg "maggots michael, your eating maggots, how do they taste")

I always end up thinking of "Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistlestop Café" when I see train tracks.
That first 10 minutes never fails to bring a tear to my eye

I never had a childhood. It was a carefully regimented ageing.
