cov ops change for a new PA
I was thinking of a different way for an intelligence branch in PA. It would involve infiltrating moles in various sectors of activity.
- Politics: you get access to the target's POPULATION page
- Industry: you get access to the target's CONSTRUCTION page
- Scientific: you get access to the target's RESEARCH page
- Finance: you get access to the target's MINING page
- Military Weaponry: you get access to the target's PRODUCTION page
- Military Command: you get access to the target's FLEET page
- Military HQ: you get access to the target's MISSION page
Each sector is ranked by difficulty. The more difficult the longer it takes to infiltrate a mole.
Each planet has a counter infiltration bonus depending on the Government chosen and the population settings. The bonus give you a chance to detect the mole each day. In addition a planet can run a special detection operation in a given sector at a cost every 6 ticks. Cost is fixed no matter if there is a mole or not.
In addition to gathering info, once in place the mole can take some action but with a detection penalty:
- Lowering bonuses in Political sector
- Slowing down completion in sectors like Industry, Scientific, Weaponry
- Diverting ressources to home planet in Finance sector
- Changing a mission order (it's a 1 shot, detection is 100% sure once done)
Moles are in place until detected. Once found the choice is: kill the mole, turn the mole, feeding false info to the enemy.
I think that way, this aspect of the game would be used more frequently by more players. It will be like a war fought in the shadows in addition to the war fought in space. Infiltration on gal mates possible (on allies impossible due to exploit possible in diverting resources).
