Zellwigger sucks

Saw a thing today that stated that Renee Zellwigger will get $22 million to star in the sequel to Bridget Jones Diary. She's agreed to put on 20 pounds for the role.

Would someone PLEASE tell me in what world does this no-talent, squeaky-voiced, half-eyed, ugly chick deserve $22 million? This chick can't act her way out of a paper bag! She has one minor hit (BJD) that barely made $71 million in the US and everyone thinks CHICAGO is great when it was the ensemble that carried that film and Zeta-Jones more than any of them, not Renee. She doesn't have the catalogue of films to support this paycheck! Julia Roberts had to have ten blockbusters to get into the @20 mill orbit. Sigourney Weaver needed the ALIEN franchise and genuine acting ability.

Zellwigger ain't done *****!!!

She deserves it because of the necessity to have the same actors in each sequel, and that is what the network feels is a good valuation of her net worth to them in terms of profits from the film.

I actually fell in love with Renee Zellwigger when I saw her in Bridget Jones Diary.

Then I saw her in some other crap, after she became a stick again. And she was f**king awful.

I hope she does the sequel. And keeps the frigging 20 pounds.

they prolly offered her a lower amount and said no. think about it. they NEED the same actress for the part to make the story worthwhile. she knew she could milk them for more and she did. good on her.

See, this is why "deserving" is a stupid term in a wages context.

Also, you should only care if you're a shareholder for the studios involved. If you are, then there's better places to bring this kind of thing up.

you're right though, deserving is a stupid term in this context, it is just her market value according to the potential profits that the studio expects to make from her... in a similar way to the fact that half of Manchester United's turnover goes on player salaries (last I heard)

Maybe they had to throw huge amounts of cash at her to get her to agree to a sequel. And let's face it, they'll probably get the money back through sales since the first film was pretty successful.
