Resource trading
How about being able to trade resources will other players in your gal without being charged..or trade in the universe without a charge...it will make it so much easier

Thats the point, you can't only attack one race (e.g. Cathaars) because you will be full of crystal roids, you need some variation. It also helps galaxies work together, slightly.

Thats the point, you can't only attack one race (e.g. Cathaars) because you will be full of crystal roids (arfy)
euh.. arfy.. where did death666 mention attacking someone? he just mention trading..
but i agree, that would deafeat the point of having the gal fund or the universe fund as trading point.

Attacking only one race (eg Cath) --> buildup of that race's roids (eg Crystal) --> too much of that resource (surplus) --> Need for Trading --> His point.

Well, then there's no point in tactics like excess Metal/Crystal/Eonium refineries at the start, or going for your own race for roids.
And that doesn't bring anything good to the game.

Resource trading has been free in the past, and it led to some abuses of it. By putting the 5% tax on trades it discourages abuse of the system, and by having a significantly higher tax on universe trades it promotes galactic interdependance, plus helps give the MoD something to do. The current system is very fair imo, and makes logical sense even in the real world, every money lender/exchanger charges you a small percent for their own profit. So if bankers steal our money in the real world, having them show up in the online gaming world to steal our resources shouldn't be much of a shock. :-p

The current system was invented to prevent mass donating mostly. It's an ok system, but you could make it cheaper for universe trading.
