You can degauss usually with the monitor controls, somehow. I think you'll find googling for "knackered monitor removal services" more constructive tho :O/


Although making sure the monitor cable is properly plugged into the back of the PC (and indeed the monitor as well) might help.

I get this problem with my KMM switch sometimes. Checking your cables will probably work in your case and a degaussing never hurts.

Might also be one of the 'image cannons' (beeldkanonnen in dutch, dunno the english term).
A trip to the local pc shop should fix it. Get yourself a nice .20dp 19"-er

Sounds like one of two things to me:
A screwed cable (wiggle the connections at each end - does it flick back to normal at all?) or a screwed monitor.
If it's the latter, you could buy a new one for the price it'd cost to repair it, so take it to the tip or try and flog it in the local classifieds as a greenscreen monitor.

I was going to say having non-shielded speakers can do that.

Then I remembered that makes them go purple if I remember correctly.

im pretty sure that'd vary depending on monitor make, magnet strength etc.
