Re: [tech help] graphics cards
Brother is looking for a new PC which hes going to build from scratch, so opinions on what a top spec graphics card is right now would be appreciated.

RR: nVidia 6800GS 256.
[edit]
Top Spec? Does top spec mean the "£350+" region or the "£250+" region?

I think calling a limit of £350 is sensible, but he is a rich little ****er, so give him an option of a hugely expensive graphics card and hes likely to bite.

Re: [tech help] graphics cards
You dont get much more expensive than £350 quid anyway (bar buying multiples)

Re: [tech help] graphics cards
I'll tell you this for free (because noone would pay to be told it, that's why) that if I had £350 to buy gaming equipment, I'd buy an xbox 360, not a graphics card.

Radeon X1900XT, or Geforce7900 GTX. The former is less expensive by some distance whilst still in the "stupidly expensive" category. The latter is slightly better and has better driver support.

Re: [tech help] graphics cards
ATI X1900XTX is overall the fastest card out, and ATI cards do not suffer from AF shimmering that Nvidia cards do.
