you have just screwed up ingame alliance tools!!!
Nick and Rulername being the same means that you need an external arbiter to be able to cross check who's who, member list, applicants, mails...
this is a retarded idea and just makes everyone's lives hell trying to cross check planets/defenders.

ask your DC's when they mouse over a defender, do they want to then have to check the planet name in an external arbiter to find out who it is!!
This is not rune scape, stop trying to align it to it!!

Yes, a number of alliances use their own tools (like CT), but a lot (also) use ingame tools.
So, people have been whining for ingame tools for ages, and PA Team hates external tools for ages, and to make sure you code something that contradicts those things, they code in stupid things.

It is, really.
They never liked non-pa-tools. I have been told so repeatedly by more then one PA Team member in th epast. Thats why they invented ingame tools (defense page, intel, etc). To make non-pa-tools less needed, and of course to give smaller guys without techies the possibility of using some form of tools.
Now those tools werent always perfetc, but i know that several alliances use the defense page for defense. And with these changes, you have two options:
1) you ask/order your members to use nickname as rulername
In this case, you give away intel, which leads to esp. smaller alliances being picked on first for easy roids very early. Also intel is a big part of this game, and it would be mostly lost as dimension to this game.
Also, Funny R/P combo's were a part of the game, and thats now killed too.
2) you ask/order your members to use r/p names like old, not using nicks.
In this case, you render the ingame tools useless, because you have no clue who is who.
And then you have the situation where some use nicks, and some don't, or where ppl start impersonating others, making room for many many complaints and mistakes and ****ups.
So, no matter what you either kill a game aspect, or you kill the ingame tools. Way to go !
Funny thing is, I heard form several people that Jagex/PA Team have an underlying motivation for these changes, but won;t tell us what. What the .....? Either tell us, so we can comment, or don't do it. Don't go hope the storm will go away while you ignore complaints about it, hoping we will be tempted by the we-will-tell-you-the-good-news-later message.

why have a shuffle, anyone who has set their real nick now and changes it before tick start is already mapped. if ruler/planet is linked to login then next round we dont even need to do intel as we know already!!

It has not added anything to the game and has in fact made the game harder to enjoy due to having to look things up!
Why? Why was this done?
P.s. some of us can't get away with using IRC nicks in our ruler names!

i love how when some coding is finally done on this game it only seems to aim to make the game more shit, and takes away a big part of community play from this game, which (let's be totally freaking honest for a change) is pretty much the only reason a big chunk of us still play.
I am deeply curious as to how and when PATeam/Jagex came up with this idea. i mean there are _TONNES_ of good idea's on the suggestions forum... yet the bit of coding that gets done has completely nothing to do with the community's wishes. Were alliance reps even asked their views on these changes?

Apparently Jagex wants it this way.
Seriously, why on earth was PA bought by the nth company that totally messes it up? Like all those predecessors, they promised heaven, but we got hell again.
Since they bought it and held a perfect speech on the these forums, we have had exactly nothing from them except a changed EULA and these new changes. This game apparently isn't even worth a referral on their site (Check their site, click ALL games, you won't find PA ....).

It sure was allowed before. I wasnt even THAT abusive. Yet 2 of my posts criticizing this new 'wonder' were fastly removed. Jagex censorship?

anyhow this is the most retarded change ever, the stats sucks this rnd, the new login sucks, everything sucks.

To be fair to him he is trying to sort it out so well done Appocomaster - but overall how did this change intially get through without a fight from the PA Team. As far as im aware your all ex players who stepped up to assume your current roles so you should ALL know how much of a pain this change is and how quickly it would be rejected by the community. DCing and Intel are 2 massive aspects of the game that keep players playing PA and that one changed pretty much made both rubbish in a keystroke. Whoever at Jagez decided it would be a good idea has obviously never played PA in an alliance and tbh none of them should be able to offer up changes to 'improve' the game until they have done so.
As an idea why dont 10-15 of them (id assume thats the size of there team) get split maybe 2 per allaince throughout the established top 10 for a round and then they can see what PA is about. I seriously doubt any of them have ever signed up to PA tho and are unlikely to do so also.
