An appeal to the internet
I know we had a thread about this sort of thing recently, but there is one particular error which is becoming increasingly common - although still not as bad as "alot", which makes me want to kill people.
Who's shoes are these? wrong
Whos shoes are these? wrong
Whose shoes are these? ding!
Whose this? wrong
Whos this? wrong
Who's this? ding!
Oh internet, please note the following:
> "Who's" is the abbreviated form of "who is."
> "Whose" is the possessive form of "who", and sometimes "which."
> "Whos" is not a ****ing word you mongchops.
Thankyou and goodnight.
[edit]
I should probably clarify that I don't particularly refer to this forum, which in fact seems quite good about not raping the english language.

Re: An appeal to the internet
I prefer 'To whom do these shoes belong.' personally.
It's not just on the internet you know. A supposedly intelligent workmate of mine continually uses the word 'broke' when she means 'broken'. As in My TV is broke :(((
Most annoying.

The ha-ha was invented for a reason. We really can't have the peasants spoiling the view of the county park.

Re: An appeal to the internet
There's a limit to how pedantic I can be about language use before I realise I need to get laid more. If I can read something in my head and have it make sense then I'm pretty easy going.
Someone saying 'My TV is broken' over 'My TV is broke' will not enhance my calm at all, since it requires no additional effort to decipher their meaning. If you've managed to use language to communicate your meaning then it's sufficient for me. If you've done it with some elegance then you get bonus points.

Re: An appeal to the internet
Any grammatical rule which isn't reinforced by genuine pronounciation differences in spoken language is probably doomed to failure (or at least a high error rate).
