There was a thread a while ago about NTL upgrading all their customers to a higher broadband service for a one-off fee of £20 or whatever. Just got a letter this morning that they're upgrading our speed from 750k to 2MB for free! \o/

Maybe NTL aren't as bad as everyone thinks..... they're certainly much better than they were when we first joined up to them!

Anyway....er....so what speeds are you lot on?

You could have upgraded yourself for free about a month or 2 ago. The website was posted in a thread on here somewhere.

I'm on 1mb now, which is great considering when i signed up last summer is was 150k for the same price. Just a pity they are introducing download/upload limits soon .

P.S. Why has it been moved to hardware and tech support when its not a hardware or tech supprt thread?

I didn't know about the upload/download limits - what are they gonna be?

3gb per month on 1MB, 1gb per day on 2MB and 1GB per day on 3MB

The download caps were already in place, but I downloaded well above my 3gb limit (pitifully low) and nothing happened. Hopefully they will continue to not enforce them.

If i remember correctly they said they were going to start enforcing the limits around mid-Summer time. I'm sure Starbucks mentioned something like that in the thread about it on GD.

There are 5 of us in our house on our 1mb connection and i know for a fact i d/l something of the order of at least 10gb last month.

God knows how much my housemates d/l.

Let's hope they won't actually bother to enforce it
