Saddam`s burial plot.
I was just thinking, where on earth are they going to bury his body after the execution? His closest family members are living in exile in neighbouring Arab countries, (no chance of him being buried there), and I`m sure there are enough people in Iraq would love to take up the new hobbie of desecration.

Re: Saddam`s burial plot.
I'd guess they'll burn him. He still has support in the Sunni community though, perhaps they'll bury in him Tikrit.

Re: Saddam`s burial plot.
I presume he'll be buried in his family cemetery located just outside Tikrit (where his two sons are also buried).

They'll put him back in the hole they found him in

Re: Saddam`s burial plot.
As Yahwe says, cremation (and presumably scattering the ashes over a large anonymous area) would seem the most suitable option.
Didn't they do something similar with Hitler?
(I know he shot himself rather than having a trial and sentence etc, but they must have disposed of the body somehow)

Reason: Hitler committed suicide, not shot by someone else

Hopefully on George Galloway's compost heap. Then he can eat his words.

Hitler and his wife killed themselves in the bunker with a gun. their bodies were then taken out and doused in petrol and burnt by their guards, under his orders.
the Russians got to Berlin first and rumours circulated for decades that they had taken the body back to Russia.
A few years ago (i.e. after the collapse of the USSR) bits were found in the recently opened archives with labels indicating they were bits of Hitler. there was a bit of wood from a chair (or something) covered in blood, a piece of skull and some teeth.
the teeth seem to match Hitlers as they have a unique bridge that only Hitler had. Genetic tests were not allowed to be carried out on the blood to prove if it was Hitler's over fear the archives would become a sacred ground for neo-nazi groups.

Yahwe already politely corrected me on IRC about how he died.

Re: Saddam`s burial plot.
It is my understanding that merely walking across his grave would be affront enough for a Muslim. Bottoms of the fee and all.
