the earlier series (up to series 6) were pure genius...
It's series 7 and after that it started going a tad downhill.

I think it lost its appeal at season 6. The whole "We're deader than...." jokes the cat kept saying killed it off.
And lister became more of an annoying gimp each series after 5. He didnt have the "cool" anymore.

Some of the original "we're deader than" jokes were best.
I think in the later series', Cat lost his vanity and obvious hatred of Rimmer more.
