Cluedo
Spritely's thread got me thinking again and for those that remembe, I ran a Cluedo based thread this time last year, which was moderately succesful... in that we arrived at a successful conclusion before activity died out.
So once again I'd like to invite you to the PM extravagansa of snowy old manor houses and rich men getting killed off for their money. Cluedo Two :xmas:
Gameplay will be similar to last time, though I'll try to keep the floor design simplier and have you RPers flock closer to the board game style. As such, you're characters can be triffle boring if un-something,, so it's better not to go with any avatarish personas, because you won't get to show off, we have a very tight SFX budget this time.
Post interest now!!

Re: Cluedo
*Flapjack, who had quickly hid behind an expensive looking statue, assuming that nobody would dare touch the object out of fear for the inevitable destruction of it. That was ofcourse before the entire thing tipped over to the right and almost crushed his feet*
*Thus Flapjack dodged over to the other side of the room, remarkably remaining unseen due to the commotion of the revolver going off, and hid behind a curtain, his shoes sticking out from under it in the same way it always does in cartoons*

"Mystrery Masquerade" this sounds fun. Is this perhaps another game?

Ooo... I remember that game. That's the game I didn't really know about so checked it out one day to discover around half of the RP'ers involved though one particular individual was me.....

Re: Cluedo
I unfortunately gave myself away by using the word "Sashimi" from a Chrono Trigger quote, dang.
Mystery Masquerade involved a bunch of us signing up on another board under different names and Roleplaying around a Pseudo-cluedo style environment, the object was to identify the other posters by their diction/register/tone/attitude, whatever you want to call it, ego?
Was quite a bit of fun, though I was never any good at spotting others, though later we had the "Clue" series, which was the detective thread Dachi speaks of. I think it was instigated by Clarence, but I'm not 100% on that one.
Anyway, can someone count the number of signups, I'm off to bed. </lazy>
Also, would you prefer to know the weapon cards in advance, come up with your own suggestions for them now, stick to the classic rope/revolver/candlestick, or have me bullet point them when someone "discovers" it around the house.

Re: Cluedo
As for the weapon cards; I don't think it really matters, there are advantages and disadvantages to either system. I liked it the way you did it last year and I think it worked out alright then, but if you want to change it, I'm ok with that too, as long as it means I'll win again.
Edit: I'm not sure if you were planning to do the same thing for the rooms, but keep in mind that you need just as many weapons and rooms as there are people playing the thread. It might be a bit tiresome to 'guess' them all, especially when they're none standard things like revolvers knives, rope, poison, etc.
These are the people that have signes up so far (question mark means they've replied to this thread, but haven't explicitly said they'd join):
Flapjack (?)
Ur_Quan
Io Cor
No Dachi
Muha (?)
Spritely Zombie
Hewitt
Lady Hawk
David91
Wraith[x]
Evil Ginge
Right, back to writing for Rommey now.

Re: Cluedo
Not quite, people play with a random hand, they don't necessarily get 1 room, 1 person, 1 weapon. I might try to up the number of one card, so that I can give people more than 3 cards as well, but I guess I'll have it that the rooms are simple to work out, that there could be several weapons, at least making the less obvious ones less cryptic, and perhaps some NPCs.
At the moment I need 36 cards, so I can probably make the split, 16:10:10, if not, I'll have to drop players to 2 cards at the start, which makes things much harder to hide when you know something.
