'Modding'

Aside from cases, has anyone else modded any of their other components?

I have seen on twisted mod an article on how to do the top of your monitor (dangerous iirc) but am interested if anyone has modded anything else?

ie: mouse, speakers, printer, scanner etc.?!

I know it's unlikely but it's just a PA curiosity question

My printer has Bugs Bunny leaning on it, does that count? Mr. Sneezy is sitting propped up against the monitor/mouse/keyboard switch too if that helps. He even sneezes if you prod him \o/

I modded a Taisol socket A heatsink.

Basically cut out the ridge and 1cm thick cross section.

drilled 2 holes under it and now I use it for a replacement on my northbridge chipset on the mobo.

MUCH better than the little, dinky, thin heatsink that Leadtek put on it

EDIT - I've also cut out the grilling that is hindering the airflow of my rear exhaust and front intake.

It was this tiny, tiny little thing...I couldnt' find a high res picture of my motherboard, so the pic I found will have to do. I removed the condensator from the area where the pointer is pointing. Not sure exactly where, but it was close to those three big condensators near the cpu socket.

My motherboard is a MSI K7T266 Pro2-RU. I bought a AMD XP 1800+ Thoroughbred just to find out that my motherboard didn't support the Thoroughbred core. After some searching around I found this mod on the MSI forum together with a patched bios. And it worked \o/

rolf S.I :-)

when I get my webcam working, I'll post a piccie of my multi-coloured sprayed gear - I sprayed my monitor a funky blue with a silver japanese typel logo design on it, and spray painted my mouse a disgusting orange and my keyboard is to be done

keyboard is a knightmare tho - I took all the keys off, then took the thing apart so I could spraypaint the top but you know the lil hole bit (where the keys press down) for each key, I couldn't cover them heh - anyone know a quick and easy way to do that ? - celoptape [i]could[i] work but it's too much work as I want to spraypaint under the keys a design so :(
