I looked at the batch function and that didnt appear to do it. Maybe I am wrong though.

In 5 it's File...Batch Conversion, select the .jpgs you want to convert, choose .jpg as the output type, click Options and set the compression level higher then click 'Go Go Gadget Convert'.

Since I haven't had the foresight to steal 7 I don't know if it works the same.

Try batch converting to .BMP first, then converting from .BMP to jpeg then. And make sure you're using a different output folder to your input folder.

I got PSP7 and like it. The only thing you can do with it thoug is reduce FILE SIZE... Do you want to reduce picture size as wel (i.e. RESIZE?).
But those ppl are right, File, Batch Convert, as JPEG should do the trick.

I clearly recommend xnView though. It's basically a picture viewer & browser (a nice one as well), but it's got a GREAT batch converter. -> Tools, Multiple Convert [CTRL + U].
The GREAT thing about this is, you can also choose filters. I.e. reduce colordepth in all files, resize, gamma correction, or anything...
Clearly this proggy...
