That doesn't provide any evidence to the conjecture, because the first film was abysmal, so the only thing you could possibly gather from the sequel is that sequels are better (ie the case where the sequel is actually good). Furthermore, how exactly do you tell how good a film is from a trailer?

Ice Cube is a truly abysmal actor and therefore this film, even with a good supporting cast, is gonig to suck.

Keanu Reeves is a terrible actor precisely because the range of roles he can play well is ridiculously small. A good actor can play a number of different roles pretty well.

He is not a good actor, but both of them CAN perform when they have the right setting, wich makes them ok in THOSE movies.

I quite liked the first one. I like pseudo-philosophy and the general plot was enjoyable.
I also liked the actionscenes.

Not necessarily. Trailers have become rather standardised of late; for example, in the first H2G2 trailer, the amazon one, I couldn't tell whether the film was going to be great or terrible or anything in between, simply because the trailer was so badly put together from my point of view, because it was aimed at a different demographic. Whilst it is true that the guide is a comedy film (presumeably) and XXX2 is an action film, it's still quite possible to have long, well put together action sequences that are actually entertaining (something that has been missing from cinema of late), and it's even more likely that the trailer will be designed to cater for the LCD.

I had no no clue what it was about before I saw it and I quite enjoyed it. The others were annoyed cause it was all wrong. So I suspect it partly depends if you have any idea of what you are expecting to see beforehand.

I actually thought the first xXx is good because of the soundtrack and Vin Diesel was ok for the agent's role.
Ice Cube however looks fat and unfit to be the saviour of anything. He should stick to black gangs movies frankly speaking.
