Well, always some nice extra to twiddle with in between ticks.

The buddy-pack rankings
Definitely something interesting to keep track of.

Re: Buddypack
While we're at it, could we put some team ranking as the default to show on the universe page? Putting the planet ranking there sort of puts emphasis on the wrong side of things imo.
(Also, buddy ranks sounds cool)

Makes no different what the default page is tbh, if your really bothered maybe misc should be default then there is no emphasis at all.
however the idea of ranking buddypacks by name sounds fun, just another irc pi**ing contest, can never have enuf of those

Re: Buddypack
The one problem I do see is that in encourages buddy packs to be formed and the way the galaxies are created i'm not sure this is a completly good thing.
In this situation buddy packs work best when they are put together due to being worthwhile ie they are a group of pretty active players. When its used by those who arent that active it damages the whole galaxy because instead of a galaxy with 6 good players at the core you have a reduced amount. Players like that are better off going random, they dont damage the galaxies core and they almost certainly end up in a stronger galaxy as them and their buddies arent dragging it down in the same way.
Competition is good as it gives another area to compete in and give players more to aim for BUT do we want players signing up for buddypacks on a whim? Perhaps if this idea is used some of us can sit down and thrash out a basic set of guidelines, nothing so strict that it puts everyone but elite players using buddy packs but something to discourage the hugely unsuitable players from making them. Something like
The following guidelines are here to help you create a successful Buddy Pack. If your proposed Buddy pack fails to meet most of these guidelines you should be thinking about changing those in your pack or going as both options will serve you better in the game.
1)Must be active for 5 ticks a day (thats ticks and not whole hours, after all from a galaxy pov you dont need to be on the whole time
2)One member should be active in all the Key attack and defence times
3)All members should have access to a real time co-ordination tool, perferably irc
ect ect.

Re: [Discuss] Buddypack
I like the idea! More competition indeed. And you'll also get a better idea how your fellow players consider you as a PA player
